 Kenrick Door Systems range of rated fire resistant roller shutter doors are manufactured in strict conformity with a quality system.
The Complete Fire Stopper™ range of fire resistant roller shutter doors have been tested to BS 476 part 22 1987 for up to 240 minutes fire resistance.
It is essential the structure to which fire stopper is fitted must have the same fire rating as stipulated for the shelter ie. 30/60/120 & 240 minutes.
Operation:
Shutters up to a maximum size of 2500x2500mm can be supplied self coiling push up operation. Shutters above this size should be either hand chain or hand wheel, mechanically geared or electricity operated. Hand chain operation allows the shutter to be operated from one side only. Hand chain wheel operation allows operation from both sides.
Our fire resistant doors are extremely versatile and easy to operate.
Automatic Closing:
Push up and hand chain operated lire stopper roller shutters are fitted with drop bar assemblies together with soldered fusible links as standard. All shutters supplied with a fusible link will automatically close when local temperature exceeds 68 degrees centigrade. Other forms of descent are available, refer to technical data sheet.
Shutters automatically operated from a remote source such as a fire alarm system will come complete with a 24 volt DC solenoid with either manual or automatic reset device. For personnel safety shutters should be supplied with audible and visual warning panels to inform personnel of impending closure. All electrically operated fire shutters have a unique motor with built in controlled descent feature. Controlled descent operation is optional on non-electric doors but is a good, safe practice and should be specified.
Design Point:
Openings must be formed lrom materials of equal fire rating to that of shutter.
For design loads please use 35kg per square metre.
It is not recommended to connect fire shutters to the alarm system without a means of controlled descent. Combination of different actuation systems can be used i.e. Audible/visual warnings with solenoid release plus time delay. For specific requirements contact our sales department.
